University of Jordan’s Department of Architecture Achieves Distinction in iSUSTAIN Award

The University of Jordan’s (UJ) Department of Architecture has achieved distinction at the 2025 iSUSTAIN Award for Architecture Graduation Projects, one of Jordan’s leading platforms for sustainable design.

Student Batool Al-Ahdeb won second place, while Mira Abdeen was ranked among the top five projects. Both works were supervised by Prof. Saleem M. Dahabreh, reflecting the department’s dedication to creativity, innovation, and academic excellence.

The iSUSTAIN Award, established by the A/E Business Council’s Green Building Unit (GBU), encourages architecture students across Jordan to integrate sustainability into their graduation projects. By blending competition with mentorship and public dialogue, the award promotes solutions focused on energy efficiency, sustainable resource use, and designs rooted in local culture.

UJ congratulated its students, noting pride in their success and highlighting its role in preparing future architects to advance sustainable practices in Jordan’s built environment.
