On my behalf and on behalf of the School and administrative staff at the School of Engineering at The University of Jordan, I am delighted to extend our warmest welcome and thank you for visiting the School of Engineering's website. I hope this distinguished and useful site provides you with all the information you need.

The School of Engineering was established in 1974. The School comprises nine departments at the Bachelor's level: Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, and Aeronautical Engineering in cooperation with the Jordanian Company for Aircraft Maintenance (JorAMCo). Additionally, it offers eighteen programs at the Master's level, a professional diploma program, and has launched a joint PhD program in Mechanical Engineering with the Hamburg University of Technology in Germany. The School is also preparing to launch a joint PhD program in Computer Engineering with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the USA.

The University of Jordan has achieved a qualitative leap in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject, leading in the field of Engineering and Technology, which rose from rank 253 in 2024 to rank 150 in 2025.

At the level of specific subjects, Computer Science and Information Systems rose to rank 100 globally after being at rank 149 last year. Civil Engineering came in at rank 229, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering at rank 232, while Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering rose to rank 291. Meanwhile, Chemical Engineering entered the rankings at position 398 globally.

These programs adopt modern and dynamically evolving curricula that achieve their educational objectives, ensuring their graduates acquire high-level skills and capabilities that meet labor market needs. This reflects the School's role, derived from the University's mission, in serving and developing the local community, aligning with the highest local and international standards. All the following programs have obtained international ABET accreditation: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering. Meanwhile, the Architectural Engineering Department will apply for international NAAB accreditation.

The School of Engineering places special emphasis on the practical aspect and training to equip students with the fundamental skills related to the engineering profession in general and their specialization in particular. Consequently, the School laboratories are equipped with essential and advanced devices that contribute to supporting theoretical knowledge and highlighting the practical aspect, which equips students with communication skills and the ability for successful teamwork. To ensure the enhancement of its students' outcomes, the School of Engineering hosts the office of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE), which is dedicated to training its students worldwide.

​The School also includes numerous laboratories equipped with the latest technologies and modern equipment that assist students and researchers in conducting research and studies, in addition to engineering design studios and advanced, modern engineering workshops. The College diligently strives to serve the community and the engineering profession by providing consultations to the private and government sectors, offering specialized courses and workshops, as well as organizing conferences, seminars, and participating in scientific forums locally and abroad.
