University of Jordan News - The University of Jordan has achieved an advanced global ranking in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, which is considered the most influential and important in the field of major classification in the world, and is launched annually by the British institution “QS". ; The university achieved advanced positions in all five classified scientific fields and in eighteen subspecialties.

 

According to the results of the classification, the University of Jordan was able to achieve unprecedented results in a number of specializations, including the specializations of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, computer science, information systems, engineering specializations, mathematics, business specializations, languages, tourism, and library and information science.

 

At the level of scientific fields, the Jordanian woman ranked 347th globally in the field of Arts and Humanities, ahead of the 451-500 rank she held in 2023, and 227th in the field of social sciences and management sciences, ahead of the 270th rank she occupied in 2023, and 253rd in The field of engineering and technology is ahead of the rank of 260, which it occupied in 2023, and in the rank of 401-450 in the field of life sciences and medicine, ahead of the rank of 451-500, which it occupied in 2023, and in the rank of 501-550 in the field of natural sciences, in which it did not obtain a general global ranking. 2023.

 

At the level of majors, the University of Jordan was ranked in one major among the top 50 universities in the world, in three majors among the top 100 universities in the world, in five majors among the top 200 universities in the world, in fourteen majors among the top 300 universities in the world, and in five majors. Ten majors are among the top 400 universities in the world, sixteen majors are among the top 500 universities in the world, and eighteen majors are among the top 600 universities in the world.

 

The ranking of seven specializations in the last classification for this year also improved, seven specializations maintained their global ranking, and three new specializations entered the global ranking.

 

At the level of the Arab world, the University of Jordan ranked first in the Arab world in the specializations of nursing, English and linguistics, second in the specialization of tourism, fourth in the specializations of medicine, pharmacy, library and information science, and fifth in the specializations of computer science, information systems, mathematics, business and management.

 

 

 

In the field of Arts and Humanities, the University of Jordan was ranked 251-300 globally in the fields of English and Linguistics, as it is the only Jordanian university ranked globally in both.

 

In the field of social sciences and management sciences, the University of Jordan was ranked internationally in six specializations, four of which were the only university locally, and the first locally in two specializations. In the field of library and information science, Jordanian ranked 49th globally, ahead of the 51-70th place it occupied in the 2023 classification, and in the tourism specialty, Jordanian ranked 51-100th globally, and entered the ranking for the first time in its history.

 

 In the specializations of accounting, finance, business, management, and education, it maintained its rank of 251-300 globally. In the field of economics, Jordan entered the rankings for the first time, ranking 551-560 globally.

 

 In the field of engineering and technology, the University of Jordan was ranked internationally in four specializations, in three of which the university was first locally, and second locally in one specialization; In the field of computer science and information systems, the Jordanian woman's ranking was 149 globally, ahead of the 151-200 position she occupied in the 2023 classification, and 201-240 in civil engineering, where the Jordanian woman entered this classification for the first time, and 251-300 in electrical and electronic engineering, advanced. Up from the 301-350 rank it held in the 2023 classification, and 301-350 in the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering specialty, ahead of the 401-450 rank it held in the 2023 classification.

 

In the field of life sciences and medicine, the University of Jordan was ranked internationally in four specializations, in one of which it was the only university locally, and in three others it was the first university locally. The University of Jordan was ranked 51-100 in the nursing specialty, ahead of the 101-150 rank it held in the 2023 classification. It maintained the 101-150 rank in pharmacy and pharmacology, and advanced to 251-300 in human medicine instead of the 351-400 rank it held. She held this position in the 2023 classification. As for the life sciences major, Jordanian University was ranked 501-550, ahead of the 601-650 position it held in the 2023 classification.

 

 

 

In the field of natural sciences, the University of Jordan was ranked internationally in two specializations, in one of which it was the only university locally, and in the other specialization it was the first university locally. It maintained its rank of 201-250 in mathematics, and its rank of 451-500 in chemistry.

It should be noted that this classification is based on five criteria: the academic reputation of the specialty, which is measured by the reputation of scientific research in the specialty to be classified, the reputation of the research School, the employment reputation of graduates of the specialty, the citation rate for each research published internationally in the specialty, and global research cooperation within the specialty.
