A student team from The University Of Jordan wins first place locally and second place internationally in the “Orange Digital Center Champions” competition.

University of Jordan News - A student team from The University of Jordan won first place locally and second place internationally in the “Orange Digital Center Champions" competition for programming games.

 

In the first stage of the competition, the team consisting of student Bahaa Abu Al-Rub from the School of Engineering, two students Hamza Amira and Yazan Abdullah from the King Abdullah II School for Information Technology, and student Ahmed Nasr from the School of Medicine, won first place in Jordan, in addition to financial support of value two thousand Jordanian dinars, thus qualifying to compete in the final qualifiers at the world level, the finals of which were held on the ninth and eleventh of this month of January.

 

This competition is organized and managed by the Jordanian telecommunications company Orange, with the aim of highlighting the technological talents of young developers in Africa and the Middle East, and enhancing the work of the participating teams. Teams consisting of students from different universities and regions, each team representing its university in solving live challenges and programming problems of different levels of complexity on the “CodinGame" platform.

 

The competition included four successive stages, in which 16 countries participated, each with one team, which had to solve approximately five programming problems in less than an hour, and a number of puzzles in the field of artificial intelligence. The results resulted in the Jordanian team coming in second place after the Jordanian team. The country of Madagascar is ranked first, directly ahead of the teams of Egypt and Tunisia, who came in third and fourth place, respectively.

 

It is noteworthy that the students' participation in this competition was nominated and supported by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at The University Of Jordan, which always seeks to nominate distinguished student teams and pioneering entrepreneurial projects to participate in important local and international competitions that have a positive impact on the students and the university.
