The Department offers a Bachelor's program in Civil Engineering and a Master's program with two tracks: thesis and comprehensive, which includes five branches: (Structures, Water and Environment, Highway and Traffic, Project Management, and Geotechnical Engineering). The department, housed at the School of Engineering, has 34 distinguished full-time faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced, including 20 professors, 13 associate professors, and 1 assistant professors, in addition to 10 engineers and lab technicians. The Proximity to other departments fosters a collaborative climate, as most of our faculty members participate in interdisciplinary research.
The programs offered by the department are designed to develop creative professional engineers. We emphasis on discipline and the fundamentals of engineering. The program in the department are prepared and reviewed by distinguished professors, and these programs and course content are constantly updated with the latest developments in civil engineering to keep pace with the rapid advancement in modern design, management, and construction methods, resulting in civil engineers with high skills, professionalism, and competence. The Civil Engineering Department has played a significant role in qualifying experts, as graduates of the department at the University of Jordan have assumed high-level positions both nationally, regionally, and globally across all fields and branches of civil engineering; our graduates are leaders in their profession.
