University Of Jordan wins Erasmus Plus project to develop green engineering skills in the Mediterranean region

In a new achievement that enhances the academic status of the Jordanian University and its leadership in supporting sustainable development efforts, the university won a project funded by the Erasmus Plus Capacity Building Program entitled "Technical Engineering Green Skills for the Mediterranean Region (TECGREMED)", which was submitted by Dr. Riyad Al-Kassasbeh, which aimed to develop specialized training courses to enhance sustainable skills in various engineering fields, in cooperation with experts from partner European universities.

 

The project was inaugurated at Zarqa University, the local partner, the project that sought to provide students with distinguished practical skills that meet the needs of the labor market, with a focus on building capacities in the fields of green engineering, where participants discussed the future tasks and activities of the project, and were briefed on the academic equipment and expertise available at the two universities.

 

The project is attended by the Vice President Dr. Giovanni Betta from the Italian University of UNICAS, the Project Director Dr. Alessandro Figus, the University of Valencia in Spain Dr. Javier Rodrigo and Dr. Luis Sánchez, and the University of Fez in Morocco Dr. Abdel Salam Al-Khanshoufi. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Project Manager at the National Erasmus Office Ms. Asma Al-Samadi.

 

The University of Jordan was represented by Dr. Riyad Al-Kassasbeh and Professor Dr. Osama Al-Habahbeh from the School of Engineering, while the Dean of the School of Engineering Dr. Tayseer Al-Ghanem, the Dean of Zarqa Technical School Dr. Ghaida Abu Rumman, and the Director of International Cooperation and Project Coordinator Dr. Ashraf Shaqdan from Zarqa University participated.

 

This project is considered one of the important initiatives to enhance the capabilities of engineers and students in the fields of renewable energy, by benefiting from the expertise of international partner universities, which contributes to achieving sustainable development and developing engineering competencies in Jordan.
