A specialized workshop on "Water Loss in Jordan" was held at the School of Engineering, directed at the students and staff of the School of Engineering, with the attendance of students from the School of Agriculture, the Water, Energy and Environment Center, and organized by CDM SMITH, with the participation of USAID, and the Training and Alumni Office at the School of Engineering.
The workshop included topics that addressed the availability of water worldwide, the water sector in Jordan, water loss in it (water that enters the water system, but does not yield income), and how to manage water loss in Jordan.
This workshop came as part of the agreement signed between the University of Jordan and the Ministry of Water and Irrigation through CDM SMITH and USAID.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the School of Engineering, Dr. Menwer Attarakih, his Academic Vice President, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Battah, his Assistant for Training and Graduates Affairs, Dr. Osaid Matar, his Assistant for Student Affairs, Dr. Ahlam Al-Harahsheh, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Shadi Muqbil, and other academic and administrative staff.
