University of Jordan News - Dr. Rana Al-Imam from the School of Engineering at the University of Jordan won the ALECSO Award for Creativity and Innovation for Young Researchers in its sixth session - University of Sharjah session in the field of green economy 2024.
Dr. Al-Imam was honored for winning the award in the first category for a published scientific research in the field of green economy that achieves sustainability, during the opening activities of the second ALECSO Forum for Twinning Arab Universities, which was held at the University of Sharjah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.
The award includes three categories; the first category award is given for a published scientific research in the field of green economy that achieves sustainability, the second category award is given to a researcher for a research project idea in the field of economics that has not yet been completed and achieves sustainability, while the third category is given to an Arab university or institution for a completed project, or one that was completed in the field of green economy, and serves the surrounding communities.
To be eligible for the award, the applicant must be a principal researcher in scientific publications that are considered pioneering and innovative in the field of the award, and the submitted scientific production must not have been published more than three years ago.
It is noteworthy that a total of 183 research papers and projects from different categories were submitted for the award in this session, from researchers and institutions from all Arab countries, and these projects were subject to evaluation by a committee of experts and arbitrators with experience and specialization.
