The Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) and the Applied and Natural Sciences Commission (ANSAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the University of Jordan (UJ) held a series of joint virtual meetings over 3 days last week.

The meetings included a comprehensive review of the procedures related to accreditation with the university's higher management, Engineering and Science faculties, Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Admission and Registration Unit, and Deanship of Student Affairs.
The committees also met with the President of the university, Vice President for Scientific Schools, deans of the schools of science and engineering and their deputies and assistants, Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Registrar General, Heads of Departments, faculty and administrative staff, laboratory supervisors and student representatives from different levels.
The evaluations included two issues: renewal of the international accreditation for seven programs at the School of Engineering for another six years (chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, computer engineering and mechatronics engineering), and obtaining accreditation to the Mathematics program at the School of Science as per the other four programs at the school (Physics, Environmental and Applied Geology, Chemistry, and Biology).
