The PhD in Mechanical Engineering was established as a result of the collaboration of two leading institutions; The University of Jordan (UJ) and Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) in Germany, in 2024. This program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both coursework and research, integrating the academic excellence of UJ with the advanced research capabilities of TUHH. Students will spend 4 semesters in UJ and (4-6) semesters in TUHH. Thus, the intended period for this program is 8 semesters, and at most 10 semesters. Students will begin their PhD journey by completing a set of rigorous courses at UJ, with the option to take one full semester online. Selected courses will be taught jointly by professors from both UJ and TUHH, ensuring a broad and comprehensive learning experience. The courses are designed to deepen the students' understanding of theoretical and applied concepts in mechanical engineering, preparing them for advanced research. Students will be guided by expert professors from both UJ and TUHH throughout their studies, ensuring diverse perspectives and mentorship.
