The Supreme Council for Professional Qualification and Accreditation holds its annual meeting and discusses the latest developments in the system of professional qualification and accreditation

The Supreme Council for Professional Qualification and Accreditation held its annual meeting, headed by the Head of the Jordanian Engineers Syndicate, Engineer Ahmed Samara Al-Zoubi, reviewing the efforts made by the Engineers Syndicate in the Gaza Strip and the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, and what is being accomplished on the ground in cooperation with the Higher Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine and the Hashemite Charitable Organization.

  In the same context, the head of the Engineers Syndicate, in the presence of members of the Supreme Council formed from various ministries and institutions, confirmed that the professional qualification and accreditation system was approved by the General Authority of the Jordanian Engineers Syndicate, and was submitted to the relevant authorities for approval, but it has not seen the light yet, despite its official approval by the Engineers Union. Arabs and its application in a number of Arab countries, despite Jordan being the first to prepare it.

Engineer Samara spoke about his recent visit and the delegation accompanying him to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, indicating that we are concerned with implementing the professional qualification and accreditation system as it gives confidence and credibility to engineers in light of the current size of huge projects that have been talked about in Saudi Arabia, indicating that the volume of work there is capable of creating Job opportunities for Jordanian engineers.

For his part, a member of the Council of the Engineers Syndicate and Chairman of the Permanent Technical Committee for Professional Qualification and Accreditation, Dr. Bashar Tarawneh, pointed out the importance of continuous communication with various institutions, including universities and the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation Commission, regarding the proposed engineering programs, competencies, and the national qualifications framework, all of which help in raising the professional level of engineers. .

The Assistant Secretary-General for Training and Qualification Affairs, Director of the Academy of Engineers for Engineering Development and Training, Engineer Samar Al-Kilani, pointed out the role of the Supreme Council in supporting the approval of the professional qualification and accreditation system and unifying efforts between the public and private sectors in the qualification process, and helping to improve and strengthen the professional qualification and accreditation system, in addition to Enriching engineers' knowledge and the work environment in which they work.

The meeting discussed the current developments in approving the professional qualification and accreditation system in the Arab countries and the negative impact on engineers of not approving it, the developments regarding the sixth professional qualification and accreditation forum, which will be held next May, the specialties proposed by universities and the opinion of the Engineers Syndicate therein, and the professional ranks for the practicing professor and technical education. Its importance is in focusing on practical aspects more than theory, and emphasizing the intense effort to establish a system of professional qualification and accreditation, and the importance that is reflected in this through mutual dependence, especially between Arab countries, and the importance of institutional work and its framing of work practice, including obtaining professional ranks, in addition to taking into account specializations. Competencies that arise in work and engineering specialization, and updating the requirements for granting engineering ranks.​
