The water infrastructure construction project team in Jordan visits the School of Engineering at UJ

University of Jordan News - On Sunday 25th Feb, 2024 a team from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jordan, represented by its Dean, Dr. Menwer Attarakih, his Assistant for Training and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Osaid Matar, and the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Rabab Al-Louzi, met with the team of the project to build water infrastructure in Jordan. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development, represented by Engineer Akram Al-Qahiwi, and the project team from CDM Smith, represented by its director, Cécile Tebiul, and the director of the project's capacity building mission, Engineer Yazan Al-Abadi.

The second team presented details of its experiences and work in the field of water systems design and wastewater treatment projects. The two teams also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership frameworks, stressing the importance of investing in and developing energies by training students from the School of Engineering and working with them to contribute to directing their graduation projects and enriching them with research in the field. Bachelor's degree, and involving master's students in the research process in the field of water systems and wastewater treatment in parallel with market requirements and the accompanying technological development.

The two teams announced their intention to enhance the skills necessary for the labor market for all engineering students, with the aim of preparing graduates, equipping them, refining their personalities, and arming them with the necessary experience, by giving them the necessary training courses for this.

It is noteworthy that the second team seeks to pave the way for an agreement to be signed by the University of Jordan through the School of Engineering with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in the near future.​
