BSc. Chemical Engineering
Program Description :
Chemical engineers are concerned with processes that make chemical species undergo changes in their chemical and/or physical composition, structure, energy content or physical state in order to produce valuable products.
The B.Sc program at the chemical engineering department at the university Jordan consists of 160 credit hours that provide basic knowledge in chemistry, physics, mathematics, economics and a strong core of engineering sciences and process design.
The program provides excellent preparation for careers in a wide range of industrial applications such as petrochemical refineries, petrochemical industries, medicine and related fields of safety, health science and environmental applications. Undergraduate research opportunities are available to familiarize students with research methodologies.
The research topics emphasize the basics of chemistry, engineering science and process design.
This research activity contributes to improving the knowledge of the chemical industry.  It requires careful engineering to reduce environmental contamination and to insure product quality and public safety.

Mission of Department
The mission of the Department is to provide Jordan and other Arab countries with highly skilled professionals in various Chemical Engineering applications as well as research and development. It is committed to provide broad yet in-depth education to enable its graduates to be competitive and assume leadership roles by joining technical knowledge to communication skills and professional ethics. The program excellence is ensured through continuous partnership with all stakeholders to attract top-notch students and faculty.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Graduates of the chemical engineering program are expected within a few years of graduation to:
1. Demonstrate their ability to integrate and apply knowledge, skills, professional ethics and leadership at national, regional and global levels.
2. Demonstrate their ability to work successfully both independently and in team functioning effectively as responsible professionals.
3. Establish themselves as distinguished professionals in industry, academia and other related fields.
4. Develop themselves in post-graduate studies in chemical engineering or allied fields.

Program Outcome (POs)
Each Chemical Engineering student will demonstrate the following attributes by the time he/she graduates:
O1)  An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
O2)  An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
O3)  An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
O4)  An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
O5)  An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
O6)  An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
O7)  An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
