Department Strategy

Vision

To be one of the leading Departments of Chemical Engineering in Jordan and the Arab world where the fundamentals of science, the principles of chemical engineering, and the highest professional and moral conduct are fused into multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs aiming at producing world-class graduates and research.

Mission

Our mission is to provide students with a quality chemical engineering education, provide services, and carry out basic and applied research. The program mission is in full agreement with stated University and College missions.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Graduates of the chemical engineering program are expected within a few years of graduation to:
1. Demonstrate their ability to integrate and apply knowledge, skills, professional ethics and leadership at national, regional and global levels.
2. Demonstrate their ability to work successfully both independently and in team functioning effectively as responsible professionals.
3. Establish themselves as distinguished professionals in industry, academia and other related fields.
4. Develop themselves in post-graduate studies in chemical engineering or allied fields.

Students Outcomes

Each Chemical Engineering student will demonstrate the following attributes by the time he/she graduates:
O1)  An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
O2)  An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
O3)  An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
O4)  An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
O5)  An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
O6)  An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
