Combined electrocoagulation processes as novel approach for enhanced pollutants treatment

​The integration of electrocoagulation, EC with one or more treatment processes has become a novel approach that able to improve the removal of colloidal and non-biodegradable pollutants. Several treatment processes including adsorption, chemical coagulation, magnetic field, reverse osmoses and membrane filtration have been combined with electrocoagulation treatment step. the resulting combined systems have shown an improved treatment performance. As an attempt to analyze the potential of other electrocoagulation assisted treatment processes, this review will focus on several other combinations including adsorption, chemical coagulation, and magnetic field assisted EC processes.
