To address the evolving field of computer engineering, the University of Jordan's Department of Computer Engineering, established in October 1999, has continually adapted to meet the increasing demand for specialized education. Currently boasting 14 dedicated faculty members, the department offers a rigorous undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Engineering and a graduate program granting a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Engineering and Networks.
Notably, our B.Sc. program holds accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission (ABET), a distinguished U.S. accreditor recognized for evaluating college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. This accreditation underscores our commitment to delivering a high-quality education that aligns with international standards. More over our B.Sc. program and King Abdullah II school of information and technology achieve an advanced university ranking among the top 150 at Q-S world universities ranking by subject 2024.
In a significant development, a graduate program in collaboration with the Mechatronics Engineering Department was launched in the 2022/2023 academic year. This program is the outcome of the Erasmus+ funded capacity building project "Developing Curricula for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics" and it offers a M.Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. This initiative is a response to the escalating demand for graduates equipped with advanced skills in AI and Robotics.
As part of our commitment to providing a holistic education, the department is proud to offer eight specialized labs covering practical aspects in Embedded Systems, Computer Networks, Parallel Processors, Computer Design, Digital Electronics, Object-Oriented Programming, Python, Numerical Analysis, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision. These labs serve as crucial platforms for students to gain hands-on experience and practical insights into various facets of computer engineering.
Join us at the forefront of innovation and education in computer engineering at the University of Jordan, where our dynamic programs and state-of-the-art labs prepare students to thrive in the ever-changing technological landscape.
