The department offers programs leading to the B.Sc., M.Sc.
(Thesis and none thesis options) as well as Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering.
The Department, housed at the School of Engineering , has highly qualified and
experienced 38 full-time faculty members consisting of 12 professors,
16 associate professors, 9 assistant professors, and 1 lecturer, in
addition to 12 laboratory engineer and technician. The close proximity of
other departments fosters a climate of collaboration where most of our faculty members
are involved in interdisciplinary research.
The programs offered by the department are designed to develop
professional creative engineers. We emphasis on discipline and engineering
fundamentals and are, continuously, updating our programs to cope with the
rapid introduction of modern design, management and construction methods. On
national, regional and global level; our graduates are leaders in their
profession.
Civil engineers have a major role in shaping the future of the world. They are
trained to methodically find engineering solutions to design, environmental and
construction challenges with the responsibility of serving and maintaining the
wellbeing of the general public. Civil engineers seek creative solutions to the
complex issues facing the world today; they design, construct, operate and
manage the basic systems that make civilization possible and yet preserve and
protect the environment.
