Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Jordan, a cornerstone of engineering education and innovation since our establishment in 1978. For over four decades, we have been dedicated to cultivating the next generation of engineering leaders, with more than 2,800 accomplished alumni shaping industries worldwide.
Our department offers a comprehensive suite of academic programs designed to meet the evolving demands of the global engineering landscape. These include our ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, along with Master of Science programs in both Mechanical Engineering and Renewable Energy.
In a pioneering step for the nation and the region, we are proud to have launched a new Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics Engineering/Maintenance in 2024. Developed in strategic partnership with Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (JorAMCo), this unique six-year program blends rigorous academic coursework with extensive practical training.
Global Partnerships and Doctoral Education
Adding to our robust graduate offerings, we are proud to facilitate a joint PhD program in collaboration with the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) in Germany. This prestigious program is a cornerstone of our internationalization strategy, designed to create advanced collaborative research opportunities. It enables our doctoral candidates to work alongside renowned professors and gain access to state-of-the-art facilities at both institutions, fostering a world-class research environment that addresses global engineering challenges.
The excellence of our programs is reflected in the success of our graduates. Our alumni are highly sought after, building distinguished careers within Jordan and across the globe—particularly in the Gulf States, Europe, and North America. Many have further advanced their education in prestigious postgraduate programs, securing positions at renowned research and academic institutions worldwide.
