Launching the Career Readiness Program Series at the Jordanian University of Engineering

Mustafa Al-Momani - Today, a series of lectures on the Career Readiness course for graduating students began at the School of Engineering. The lectures were attended by the Dean of the School, Dr. Menwer Attarakih, the deans' deputies, and the heads of the various departments.

During the launch of the training program, Attarakih said: "The University of Jordan has always distinguished itself by producing students who possess knowledge, culture, and creativity. Therefore, the university has been keen to provide students with additional knowledge essential for their lives by offering the Career Readiness course, which was the result of consultations with employers in the Jordanian and global markets. The course addresses a range of soft skills, such as communication skills, technological skills, and language skills."

Attarakih added that this step reflects the university's vision of excellence and internationalism, aiming to graduate a knowledgeable and scientifically qualified generation through the courses taught, which keep pace with the latest scientific developments in all disciplines. This program also provides students with practical experience and skills that enable them to communicate with others, work within a team, and excel in a manner befitting a University of Jordan graduate, given the successive leaps it is witnessing toward globalization.

This program is held over several simultaneous sessions over a 14-day period, with 8 hours per day, for a total of 100 training hours. It is delivered by experts and consultants from the labor market, to 614 male and female students who are future engineers, who possess the necessary academic and behavioral competence and skills.
